Week 15 in reubicación!

Week #20
6/20/16
Hi everyone!! this week was really good and really not good haha! We worked really hard and got some really good stuff done but also had some hard experiences that bummed us out a bit! Monday was a normal pday.. but we found a delicious burger place that we ate at! Its not in our area unfortunately but yummy! then we went home and just relaxed until it was time to go teach! Tuesday we went into Concepcion. We spent most of our time there this week because we had some really positive people that we though were going to be ready to get baptized soon! One is a family named the family paneda, they are not positive but the one who is the most positive is the daughter kimberly! she was doing really really good until we had to teach chastity.. she is 17 and living with her boyfriend and has a baby.. so she didn't like it very much! chastity is very hard to teach and still help the person know that we just ant to help them. sometimes i think it seems like we are just telling them they are sinning but really we are just trying out help people come unto Christ through utilizing his atonement by repenting! but she wasn't reading the book of Mormon so we talked to her about that and she said she would read every day for at least 5 minutes so she isn't a lost cause! but her mom also had an interesting experience.. apparently she had a series of dreams telling her that she was on a dark and wrong path and she took that as her answer that our church is not true so we need to work with her a bit! The other is another family they are the family Escobar! They are the people we found the other week when it was pouring rain! They are still really positive but very hard to find in the house together! They stopped coffee and and are willing ot go to church but w can never find them all together at home! They coudn't go to church this week but we hope they will be able to next week! Wednesday we were in the same place put a few baptismal dates and found some news but then we got rained on and got really wet.. not fun haha! Didn't write in my journal every day but i remember being in Concepcion pretty much every day focusing on the people that could really progress! Fun story tho we found a kid he was like 18 years old and we started talking to him outside his house and asked him if we could share a short message with him, he said yes, let us in and so we went in! We were really happy, so we walked in and there was an older guy sitting down we said hola hermano! whats your name? he replied why do you want to know my name, im not telling you my name.. we were like um okay well im elder.. and he said yea thats not important to me i dont care what your name is.. haha so we were just like well this is interesting and then he said well que lo vaya bien which means like okay bye basically and then said continue on your path and made us leave haha the kid was just standing there awkward! it was pretty great! not a very nice guy hahah! rest of the week was normal we worked real hard and had some little good experiences but nothing too great this week! but we're excited to start the new week and were ready to go do some good! Hoping this week well have more success!

I feel really bad but im out of time! Thanks for reading!

week 14 in reubicación!!

Week #19
6/13/16
Hey everyone!! This week was super good! We had a lot of success and had some really good experiences! Tuesday was a normal day, nothin crazy, We had interviews with president Vasquez and that was fun! i really love my mission president he is a really great guy! In my companions interview he asked if i was ready to train.. i dont know how i feel about that! but the area im in is known for training people so its a possibility! Our mission is changing more and more every big meeting that we have! this time president implemented a new way to work with the members which is going to be hard but if it goes well will bring lots of success! So we have been trying new stuff this week]! we found a new family in concepcion and they are really great. The dad and the daughter have baptismal dates! We tried having an interview after that with Eugenio but he wasnt home again.. and he didnt show up Friday either so he wasn't baptized this week like wed hoped but thats okay, we still had one! Wednesday we had a zone conference in apopa which is really far so that kinda stunk! our interviews were there too! its like 2 hours away so it wasted a lot of out work time! but when we got back we went to Concepcion again and had an awesome experience! It was raining and we were looking for a house and got offered a ride to the general place where it is and the guy ended up taking us somewhere that was close but we didnt find the right house, but it was raining really hard and a family told us to come inside so we did and we taught them and they all accepted baptismal dates!! We are really excited for them and they are super positive and said they will come to church this next week!! So we didnt end up where we wanted but we ended up where the lord knew we needed to be! Thursday we had the baptismal interview for gabriel and then went to contact in paraiso but nothing interesting happened and we didnt have any luck. friday we did interchanges with chalate and i worked with elder mckell who also goes home this change and it was really fun]! we did member divisions and i left with a member from there area it was interesting! I led all the lessons and it was a good learning experience! very different to lead the lesson then to just help out like we usually have them! but i learned a lot! Saturday was good, we spent a lot of the day prepping for the baptism and running around getting stuff ready for it and getting people there to support Gabriel! Great kid and was a great service! Church was long cause i wasnt feeling well but it was nice and i taught a lesson in the class of the youth! Other than that this week was really great and we are looking forward to this week to come!

Thanks for reading!!
Running out of time so im not gonna share my testimony in Spanish again. Sorry! I promise i will next week! but my spanish is getting a lot better! i had to give a presentation in our zone meeting and our zone leaders told me i speak like i have a year in the mission! So i was excited to hear that! Anyways Thanks for reading!!
Adiós!

Week 12 in reubicaciòn! No changes!

Week #17
5/30/16

Hey everyone!! This week was really good! In our mission we recently had our norms of excellency removed, not sure if i mentioned this before but they were standards of numbers that we were supposed to meet each week, but they were taken away and i like the missionary work a lot more like this! we have a lot more time to focus on our baptismal dates and on less actives and working with members! We have had a lot of success getting really positive references through the members and they have all been really good about working with us! We have 5 people this month that are very positive and are probably secure baptisms! I love this area so much! the people are so amazing and heavenly father had prepared so many of them to listen to us! We have been having very cool experiences with a man names Stanly. We contacted him about 2 weeks ago outside his house, and he was really really nice and respectful and positive. He told us to come back that friday in the morning and we did. We walked into his house and opn his desk he had about 10 books.. all of them were books about the bible, the bible or teachings of the bible books.. then i saw his bookshelf, with about 50 more! ALL about religion haha we looked at each other and were like oh boy here we go haha! The first thing he said to us was that he was a pastor of a seventh day adventist church! he has been a pasotr for almost a year but he studied for 4 years to get the job. But he told us next that he didnt let us into his house to teach us anything he sad that he wanted to learn and that he was going to listen! We had a really cool first lesson and invited him to be baptised, he said yes and accepted a date. Now of course when we put dates it is only a goal and we are not going to have a baptism if he doesnt receive his answer so its nothing secure right now but he is very positive and told us that if the spirit tells him to get baptized he will! and that he isnt going to deny what we say just because his parents taught him the things he knows! We have had a few lessons with him now, he gives us an hour every Friday morning to teach him! Hes very very busy so its cool that hes so willing to have us! We are increasing hte church attendance here which makes me really happy! we had 60 in church on sunday! 6 investigators and 5 less actives! i love this branch and i am so happy that i will be here longer!! So We dont have have changes which means i will spend 6 months here for sure! Elder acosta finishes his mission this change soo i will be here this change and the net for sure to show someone else the area! and who knows for how long after that!! But i am okay with it cause this area rocks! Only thing is that i am not looking forward to being his last companion haha he always talks about going home which makes it hard for me to focus sometimes but it will all be good! he is a good missionary and were doing really good work together! We had a family home evening with a member family and an investigator family and played a game called flour face haha fun game and theres a picture of what happens when you lose haha! We had another baptism this week! his name is Marcelo, he is 8 and he is awesome!! Very positive little boy and loves going to church! We are very excited for him and his family! his mom is also a member! oh yea, so we have also been teaching an English class every Sunday evening! which is really fun haha i can speak English so its a good class! Thats all i can think of for now hahah but all is well and we are doing great in our area!! Hope all is well for all of you at home! Have a great week!! Thanks for reading!! No time to write out a testimony, sorry about that! Next week i promise!! Oh and the other picture is just a silly selfie that i took this morning cause i was bored haha!

Week 11 in Reubicación

Week #16
5/26/16
Hey everyone!! This week was average haha! I was really sick for most of the week so we couldn't work until Friday.. which really stunk! Still don't know what i had, they never told me they just gave me a bunch of medicines to take. But i am better now! Unfortunately though this will be another short email. Since we only worked from Friday to Sunday not too much happened. Friday we did companion divisions and i worked in my area with elder Garcia. It was cool, i really enjoy the opportunity to learn from other missionaries. Everyone has their own way of teaching and different examples and such, so it was a good day! We visited Concepcion and had some good lessons! We have a lot of progressing investigators there and are hoping to baptize three kids names lizbet iverson and Nicole soon! Saturday i was back with my companion and we worked with a member in an area called Paraiso. We visited one of the members friends and he was really positive and accepted a date to be baptized so we are excited to have more opportunities to teach over there in Paraiso because we dont work there a whole lot! Then we came back to our colony for a baptism!! We baptized this old lady named Carmen. She is so funny, she is 80 years old! and when we talked to her 3 weeks ago about baptism she asked us when she could be baptized!! so we had the service Saturday and it was awesome! Sunday was a normal Sunday.. Not too exciting, i still have a hard time understanding super well so Sundays arnt as nice as i wish they were. I end up lost a lot during the lessons and talks. But in the evening i had the opportunity to play a members guitar for a few minutes which i really enjoyed!! i miss my instruments haha! But overall besides being sick the week was great!
Thanks for reading!
