Week 35 Ciudad Delgado!

Week #38
11/7/16
HOLA!
This week was really good! until Sunday haha! well the whole week was good but we worked really hard this week to get people committed to go to church and nobody came! it was the first time in my whole mission that only one person came. i was a bit upset but im sure that we will have more next week!!
Anyways Tuesday we had a good day, passion for all of the people that we have because Tuesdays we can fill the schedule after not working Mondays! we got lots of lessons and we got to work all day with a member so it was good success but pretty basic!
Wednesday was the day of the dead here.. it was a very interesting day. almost impossible to contact people.. we even got yelled at one time from someone who told us it was a sentimental day and that we needed to go away.. but we went to the cemetery and talked to people about the plan god has fur us in t his life and met lots of people! we left with lots of references so that is good! hopefully we can visit them all this week and help them out! but we didn't get to do much.. everyone rejected us hah!
Thursday, we were able to do the same thing as Tuesday so that was an easy day to report.. not much happened just a lot of visits but we did get to put a lot of baptismal dates too!! Saturday night before those who fell Sunday we had 31 people with a date to be baptized, now these arnt set dates like 31 will be baptized but they're goals we put with the people! It was cool! Friday we were able to do divisions with two members and have double lessons! it was the  best! we met tons of people caus eone group went to contact the other to the visits hat we had set! we ended up putting 6 more baptismal dates.
Saturday we spent the whole day passing for every person we know and trying to invite them to church! by the end of the day we had 15 people committed to come but unfortunately they didnt come! but it was a long day of lots of walking! and.. you already know how Sunday was.. a little disappointing but i enjoyed church! ALL is well here i love this area and my companion and i will be here until Christmas! im getting fatter thats about the only thing i dont like so far about the mission! but its okay i have strong legs from all the walking! Thanks for reading everyone! hope you all have a great week!
The picture is from today! We went paint balling!! SOO fun! (nobody shot me!)

Week 33 Cuidad Delgado!!

Week #37
10-24-16
Hey everyone! this weeks email is gonna be short because we have had lots of reunions! but i have learned a lot about the importance of this church in the lives of ALL the people here on earth!

Tuesday we had a multi zone meeting! it was practically all day and when we got back to our area we didn't have much time to teach. The reunion was pretty good i learned a few things that have helped me in lessons and teaching! Something i learned was how to help investigators identify the spirit when its present in lessons and the importance of him in the role of conversion! Its really helped us out with a few investigators!! Then when we got home we went to visit a family but they wernt home.. but outside of the house two young adults were sitting down and we talked to them and ended up putting baptismal dates with them! One has already been to church! We were very happy about that! Hopefully they can progress and learn more!!
Wednesday we had a tough day! we were able to fill our schedule with visits but almost nobody was home! It was a lot of walking and a little disappointing but we ended up visiting important people! like marta! ( Who got baptized!!)
Thursday we had interchanges! i was working with our district leader elder perez! good missionary. we had a really funny experience.. well i did cause i just got to laugh! WE were teaching this lady and she was watching a little girl, the girl turned on the hose and it exploded all over my comp.. well elder perez it was probably the greatest thing ever! but it was mostly a day of introducing him to all of the people were teaching so he knows were working haha!
Friday we had another reunion.. zone meeting.. idk why but we did. it was long and spent a lot of our time but it was good! i did learn something really cool that i really liked! That this gospel blesses the lives of all those who accept it. We all know that but the way he explained it was cool. if you want blessing in work, obey the law of the tithe, if you want blessings in the family obey the lay of chastity, if you want blessings in health, obey the word of wisdom, and did that fir every blessing that we askas people! it was really cool and i have used it a few time already!
Saturday we walked around EVERYWHERE inviting all of the people that we know and teach to go to church and to join us in the trip we had to hear elder Dallin H. Oaks! it was a long day haha! most people said they couldn't go which was hard cause i understand how cool and special it is to have an apostle here but they dont. Then we had the baptism of Marta And it was super good! the talks were excellent and she was super happy!
Sunday, was super cool! Elder Oaks came to El Salvador and spoke to all of the members of the whole country! He gave an incredible message and i learned lots of cool things! it was fun to see all of the missionaries from all 3 missions here! He spoke about something i liked a lot! he spoke about the difference between this religion and others in the world, he said that all are great but pointed out the things that are especially in the church of Jesus Christ! it was pretty cool! i learned a lot! Coolest part was having marta there! I asked her what she had learned in the meeting and she said, well hermano, i learned that there is only one true church here on the earth and this is it! It was a pretty cool and exciting thing to hear! were very very happy for her!
Ended up not being short but thanks for reading!! Hope everyone has a great week!!

Week 32 cuidad delgado!

Week #36
10-17-16
Hey everyone!! this week has been great! 2 days were a little slow and kinda cruddy but we worked really hard to find new people and commit people to get to church this week! WE had some ups and some downs but in the end all turned out well! We have found lots of people and put lots of baptism dates! Monday we played volleyball as a zone and it was interesting lol, latinos dont play volleyball! but it was pretty fun! lots of laughing at how bad we all were! then we got to eat subway! that as probably the best food in the world haha! sooo different than the food people eat here!! it was amazing though!! Tuesday we worked with a member, she brought us to a bunch of people that the sister missionaries were teaching, it was pretty helpful! lots of new people! They're all old haha! well see if any of them will progress!! wednesday we had interchanges and i worked with our district leader, it was a horrible day haha i felt soo bad that we had a bad day when he came! We hardl had lessons and nobody accepted us! but he came for the baptismal interview and we got it done! Marta passed and her baptism is this week!! Thursday we had a great day planned until they called us and told us we had to go the office of the mission and do stuff for the visa of my companion! got everything worked out and will leave for his mission next month! But it wasted all day so we didt get to work much! friday we had a good day! we did divisions with two members prepping to serve missions! We were able to put 5 baptismal dates and find lots of good people1! saturday we had a long day of a lot of inviting and committing people to go to church! WE ended up committing like 10 people and had 4 in church! it was a bit annoying but we were happy to have 4!! All is well, sunday was a good day, i had to teach the gospel principles class on service! they told me 30 seconds before the prayer! haha but it was pretty good! We had 3 investigators in the class! it has been a good week, im happy, learning, having great experiences every day! i love being able to see the miracles in the lives of the people that we teach! Teaching the gospel and being in the mission is truly the best two years! and i dont think its because the mission is fun or anything like that but because its so easy to just be happy! Always thinking about others and how you can help them really brings happiness! I love this church and i love my mission! hope everyone has a great week!!

Week 31 Cuidad delgado!

Week #35
10-10-16

Hey everyone!!
This week was a long one! not sure why but it felt pretty long! It was all normal! nothing too interesting happened, but we have had a lot of luck finding new people! we were able to put a lot of baptismal goals with people but unfortunately not too many came to church!
We have been doing something new that i have enjoyed a lot. We started leaving to work at 10am. normally we have more studies but we decided that it was a good time to be out working and it has been a success! its a little harder with the first person we talk to but after that its super good! haha were a little more tired after the day too but thats a good thing! it means were working hard!! we have had lots of success finding new people but We have been having trouble helping the people that we find get to church. Its hard when the people dont come to church on sunday because we work so hard the whole week and when sunday comes and theres not investigators it feels like all the work was useless. i know its not because i can still see the people changing their lives but its a bummer! this letter wil be pretty short becaus eit was a really basic week but we are still doing the same things haha! contacting lots of people and have visits in the night time! hermana marta is progressing a lot! she is the lady whoise mom is in the wheel chair and cant do basically anything! She is ready for baptism and has been to church every week and loves it! shes really thankful for the things we have done for her and will get baptismed the 22nd of this month! We are gonna see if we can baptise her mom.. not really sure but someone told us to find out if we can hah! woulld be cool but idk how! Anabell was confirmed this weekend and is now the newest and happiest member in the ward! i loved seeing her at church this week! She also went to an activity we had on saturday! it was pretty fun! we had a soccer tourament and all types off typical foods from el salvaodr! We didnt have too many investigators there so we didnt stay too long but it was really cool and fun! until it rained haha! Anyways thats all that i have really this week, i am sorry it is so short and not full of detail! Thanks for reasding hope everyone has a great week!!

Week 30! Ciudad Dalgado!

Week #34
10/3/16
This week has been amazing!! Full of great experiences and great and spiritual uplifting messages, feelings, encouragement and peace! Im going to be brief in how i explain my days because i have lots of things to say that happened this week! Every day we did the usual haha contact people in the afternoon and visit those that we are teaching in the night time! But we have had some great progression with our investigators this week! Especially Annabel! she was baptized this Saturday! After General conference! She had been investigating the church only a few weeks but has had an amazing conversion! She was always willing to do her part in completing the commitments that we invited her to do and she always went to church! She has been my best investigator in my whole mission! I have seen her life change from not believing in god and only talking to us because her boyfriend wanted her to to now having a testimony in Joseph smith and that god lives! that this is his church and that Jesus Christ is our savior! She received her answer in the last lesson it was the pre interview and she said she could feel the truth of this church and said she was ready for Saturday! i cant explain this in all detail because i dont have enough time but i twas an amazing experience that i will never forget! she is 18 and went to all the sessions of conference! she will be a great member! Also Marta, was able to attend saturday and sunday to conference! we wenrt to her house before to help her move her mom into her wheel chair and bring her to church, climb the stairs with the wheelchair and get her into the car of a member! it was hard but a very special thing to ber able to do! She loved the conference and really likes the church! she told us that she thinks it would be good to get baptized! were going to help her get to church every week! I had an amazing week and i want to tell you all so many more things that i have learned and felt but i dont have time! Conference ewas absolutely wonderful! i was able to see all of the sessions and i learned so much about the importanc eof this gospel in our lives and in the lives of the people around us! Members and non members! I loved the most the quote "look to the book, look to the lord" If you want to know about all of the truth and happiness that members of this church have read the book of Mormon! it is true! if you are a member read the book of Mormon you will find strength and motivation to follow Christ and your testimony will grow abundantly! i know that this church is true and that Jesus Christ leads it! i know that Joseph smith was a prophet called of god and that the book of Mormon is not just a book, its scripture and its a blessing from god! read it! please read it! it will bless your life!
Thanks for reading everyone!! i hope you have a wonderful week!!! I watched conference all alone in a room haha! In English!

week 29 Cuidad Delgado

Week #33
9/26/16
hey everyone! this week has been really good but really crazy!
Tuesday we had the whole day planned and we didn't have to fill any time with finding people!! we were able to fill the whole day with investigators that we have! We didn't actually have a chance to visit all of the m but it was nice to have a place to go and not just talk to anybody we could  find haha! We had been teaching these two teenagers who were members of a prophetic church for a really long time and have had a ton of crazy questions about all sorts of crazy doctrines, studying for them has been fun haha i have learned all sorts of things that i didn't know before! but we finally put a baptismal date with the two of them! its just a goal, but we were happy! I hope they can progress and go to church! other than that it was a crazy day visiting lots of people and teaching a lot of the same lesson hah! Wednesday we had a district meeting and had to go to an other area again.. it takes a while to travel so it wasted a lot of our time! but it was a good meeting! then we had a few visits planned, but the rest of the afternoon we had to contact haha! we cant visit everyone every day so we end up doing a lot of contacting every other day or so! We have a family also that were teaching that is really good! Jose Miguel and Ana! the mom, Ana is really positive, she has been reading the book of mormon and wants to go to the church the only problem is that she doesn't want to go without her husband and he has been working a lot. hopefully we can get them to church this coming Sunday! Thursday we ha to spend a good amount of time contacting too, but we found some good people! i was on interchanges with the zone leaders of soyapongo elder Santos. He is a really good missionary! i learned a lot of good different ways to teach a few principles! i don't like doing interchanges, there probably my least favorite thing in the mission but after i always feel good about them haha! i just don't like changing companions.. good thing is that i cant leave my are so when we have to do them i always stay here! We had some good lessons with a few of our progressing investigators, one named marta, she is older and constantly has to watch her ,mom who is really sick and cant do anything for herself.. its sad because nobody helps here shes all alone. but shes really good! she hasn't been able to go to church though but this week we are going to help her bring her mom in her wheel chair so they can both be at church! she agreed to let us come and help her move her mom and put her in the chair and go! I really hope she can go!! Friday we had a day pretty normal.. until about 4pm. We were contacting a  person that the sister missionaries were teaching a long time ago and she was asking why they changed us missionaries so much and we told her that it just happens and sometimes its faster than others, and in that moment.. we got a call from the assistants. elder Perez had emergency changes!:( we don't know why of what happened but tons of people had changes! We were really sad! That kind ruined our day and we didn't feel motivated anymore but we kept working and ended up teaching the lady and putting a baptismal date with her! Saturday we had the "changes" we went to the place and were ready to go there was my other comp and everything and they said okay all of you go back to Delgado and you will be in a trio. .so we went there and the other elder put his stuff aside and as we were prepping to go they called again and said okay elder Aguilar, my new companion you will go to this area for a few days pack a few days of things... so he left and i was back with elder Perez.. they said it'd only be for another day or two but we were happy because we had our baptism and he was able to be there!! After all it was a good day. Sunday was the change.. President came at 7 in the morning and took my companion and i stayed all day with a member haha! it was really weird! we went to invite the investigators and everything! then i waited basically all day in the church for my new companion then when he came we had to wait with the other elder that came with my companion so his new companion could come! im sad.. didn't want my comp to leave but its okay. my new companion is from here! El Salvador but is waiting to go to his mission in Puerto Rico! im finishing his training.. he was in chalate when i was there so i already know him and have worked with him in the past! good missionary! but very different person than me haha! don't think ill be with him very long, he already has his visa its just a matter of when the office calls us! could be a week could be a month. But everything is good now! i have had a good pday, we got to play ping pong! I played a lot! i never lost haha! i really really enjoyed it! Well this week has been a good one and i hope it will continue that way!! Thanks for reading!! Hope all is well for everyone back home!!
hasta la próxima semana!
Tengan feliz semana!

Week 28 Cuidad Delgado

Week #32
9/19/16
Hola Everyone! this week has been really good!
I have just been coming to love more and more this area! Its super cool, and i feel like we are doing really good here! Tuesday we spent a good part of the afternoon contacting and found a few people, not super positive but more people to teach is always good! We also found one of the ladies that the sister missionaries were teaching before and she accepted a baptismal date! We will see if she is willing to take the steps necessary to receive her answer from god! Most people dont fully understand their part in the conversion. Lots wait and dont work, but conversion is really hard, they dont always get that. Our part is the most important.. we need to search diligently and read and pray, go to church. but lots of people arent willing to go or act. Thats the hardest part of the mission, helping people understand that! but then in the night time we visited a few of our investigators, we really have tried to focus on the Sabbath day, and getting people to church! Wednesday we did basically the same! we have been working with member and youth preparing for their missions it has been a lot of fun haha! but we also put another baptismal day with a guy named Rodrigo. he is the son of a lady we found the past week! but they both fell this week because we called them Sunday in the morning ot see if they were going to go to church and she said that she would appreciate it if we never came back to her house because their having problems in the family because of our visits.. we only went twice but the husband doesn't like that we have gone there it was sad but in the future they will realize what they're missin! Thursday we had a lot of time to do nothing! it was the 15th which is independence day here.. all day there were parades and things, until like 2. We weren't aloud to do anything then when we left we tried to contact people! it was great, everyone was home with the whole family but NOBODY let us in to share a message with them hah so after like 3 hours of that we went to visit some members. but it was cool we live on the street where the parades were so we saw a little! pretty fun! Friday we only had to plan an hour of contacting! We can almost fill our schedule with people now haha! were gettin there! we taught a lot of the Restoration! Saturday we filled the schedule!! but some appointments feel and we ended up contacting a but but it was good! we ran around inviting everyone we know to church hah! we went home really tired! Sunday was hard.. we had lots of people ready and committed to church but only the two that normally go went.. we had hoped for about 8 investigators! but theres always next week!! :) Anyways this week has been lots of fun and im grateful for the experiences i have had good and bad! im really lazy and dont feel like bearing my testimony in Spanish.. sorry haha! oh yea last night we found the key to unlock a staircase in our house that goes to the roof and we got to enjoy the night outside! it was pretty cool, we brought our pillows and blankets and played with my laser pointer! Pretty relaxing! Then it rained on us haha! well until next week! thanks for reading!!
I found a place that had coconuts and i had to buy one! haha! they're way different here but it was good!(The picture didn't come through)
