Week 7 in Reubicación!

Week #13
4/25/16
Hey everyone!! this week has been pretty good! I will apologize in advance, i forgot my journal today so i am going to have a hard time remembering all that we did this week! But the week was really good! Monday, we found out late afternoon that Elder Le May had changes, and i would be receiving a new companion. So we went around to converts in the area and Elder Le May said goodbye to them. Then we visited with the branch president and then returned home to allow him to pack his things and prepare for the change, which could have been very early in the morning. There was not much information given all we knew at the time was that he was leaving. Tuesday morning we received more information and took Elder Le may to the bus stop and waited with his until the bus came, then i spent the afternoon with the branch mission leader. I really like him his name is Johnathon hes 20 and preparing for his mission! We still didn't have much info about what we had to do so we waited in the house did studies and then headed to the chapel to wait. We were there for a while waiting before we received info about my new companion! Elder Acosta is my new companion, hes a great missionary and is really excited to be working here in reubicacion! he is a powerful missionary and im earning a lot from him. We should have a lot of success this change! Tuesday night after he arrived we put his stuff in the house and headed out to go present him to the ward members and a few investigators that we teach in our colony. It was late so we didn't have tons of time but it was a good day! Wednesday we had a normal day of studies and work. studies are really long while you are in training, which is hard for me sometimes but it is good I always learn something new and find things that io can share with investigators to help them! We study from 8-12 so there's a lot of time! I am soon going to receive the institute manuals in English and i plan to read the all to gain more knowledge because sometimes i don't feel like i know enough in lessons haha! so i am really excited to get those! We went to concepcion every day this week because a lot of our progressing investigators are there! it was really great! we are preparing eugenito and his father eugnio for baptism this week and hoping that we can have another young boy named Gabriel ready too! we will for sure have one baptism but are hoping for three! we have had alots of success this week though! we put 6 new baptismal dates and had the church attendance to 50 from last weeks 35. We found 12 new investigators and some of them are really positive! we had a lesson with an old lady named Carmen and we taught baptism to her. She has been an investigator for a long time and when we stopped talking she was quiet and asked us, when can i be baptized! so we will baptize her hopefully in 3 weeks! It was a really cool experience! Sunday i had to give a talk in church which i didn't enjoy but it was good. I spent the week prepping it! it was on the holy ghost and i learned a lot! but im glad its over haha i don't like public speaking! other than that i dont have much else to share from this week, just getting to know my new companion and enjoying the area and the mission!
Thanks for reading!! hope all is well with everyone!

Este semana fue excelente como siempre! Me encantan mi área!
Gracias! Adiós!

Week 6 in Reubicaciòn

Week #12
4/18/16
Hey everyone!!
This week was super nice! it was a pretty relaxed week, Monday pday and paint balling was a blast, Tuesday we went to the temple! it was so nice! the San Salvador temple is my new favorite temple it is sooo beautiful inside and out!And it was fun to see everyone in the mission! Wednesday we put three baptismal dates and we were excited for that! with two that we have been teaching for a long time but usually cant find the dad but they are both ready and should both get baptized within these next few weeks! the little one was supposed to be this week but we had trouble with the mother. She doesn't live with them and doesn't see the kid but the father wanted to talk to her but couldn't find her! So we will have his baptism this week! The other was the older sister of the family that we baptized in my first week. She wants to get baptized right now because she thinks Elder Le May is attractive haha but she said we could keep teaching her haha! she lives really far away though out of our area so we need to figure it out! Thursday we worked really hard! We went to all of our areas! lots of traveling and walking! not too much success in finding people home but enough to make our trips worth it! We also found out this week that the family of ten we found the other week, the father is a pastor at a church next door so it has been fun teaching him haha i dont do anything.. Elder Le May and him talk about the bible and he teaches him well! I don't know enough about the bible to talk to a pastor haha so im learning! This week during studies i studies other religions to know how to teach to different people, we went over what they believe and what scriptures are good to shre with them! im really happy that we did that! I think it will help me a lot in the future! I still need to study it all but now i have all the info! Friday was kinda random. We had plans for going to concepcion to plan for the baptism we were going to have but then found out it wasn't going to happen so we didn't have any good plans so we decided to pray and look in the area book and decide where to go! We decided we wanted to go to the sketchy part of our are but president said no.. We wanted to go so were were sad haha! there are two places in my area that are really dangerous and i want to go! So after asking and being told no we decided to go to El Limón where we were going to find our news for the week! We looked around and talked to lots of people but didn't find anyone who wanted to hear, so we started heading back to the area when we saw lots of smoke! Then we turned a corner and saw someones whole field on fire! so we were firefighters for like an hour and a half cause it was really big and they needed help! it was pretty fun but we smelled really bad! haha! so we went home and changed and went back out to work in our colony! Oh yea, I forgot to say that the people we helped sid we could come back and teach them so we ended up finding 14 news! haha so we were happy! Saturday we had an activity and showed meet the Mormons and it was really cool we had 5 investigators there! it was in the evening so we spent the morning inviting people! Sunday was good, the attendance wasn't great but it was a good day! Overall a great week of great experiences and lots of fun along the way! Thanks for reading!!

Week 5 in Reubicación!

Week #11
4/11/16
Hey everyone!!

This week was pretty great! we worked really hard and had less success that we wanted but still did well according to the norms of excellency.. on Tuesday we went to our area that is pretty far away quetzaltepeque to teach people out there because we have a lot of investigators with baptismal dates there, but nobody was home that we were hoping to find! so we ended up teaching the children that are coming to church from there. They know all the doctrine and are totally ready to be baptized but its really hard to stop them from drinking coffee, that is our most common problem! Everyone drinks coffee so we need to find the parents to teach them because the children just don't understand. Wednesday we went back to find people and again nobody was home which was really a bummer! so we chatted with the members and found some new people! But after we left we visited a family of less actives in San Bartolo who have nonmembers living with them and were preparing a girl named Tatiana to be baptized. She is awesome but were having a hard time getting them to church! Her mom is also hesitant to be baptized but is okay with her daughter! so were gonna keep working with them! We finally gained there confidence which is really good! so they are progressing and we are very happy for them! Thursday we went to Paraiso.. which means paradise but this place is definitely not paradise haha so we named it hell as a joke between us. Just because its really hot there and the investigators we have out there are pretty difficult! Never saying it in a negative way tho! because we love all the people there! just a little joke! Bummer was that again.. nobody was home! so we visited a few less actives and found a new and got a reference! so not so bad of a visit! Friday was our more successful day! we found a family of 10 and they are really positive! they are active in another church but are really great people! Cool experience for me listening to the spirit! we were walking by and we walked past the house because we saw a lady sweeping outside and weren't sure if anyone else was home. But I turned around and asked her if we could help her with anything then we started talking and she let us in and invited her family out! So were very excited to teach them! Then the rest of out day was prepping for alexs baptism! Alex is the sweetest most positive little guy i have ever met! We found him 3 weeks ago and set a baptismal date and he was baptized on Saturday! He always comes to church with him mom who is a recent convert but we didn't know he had turned 8 a few weeks ago! so we prepped him had the interview and then went to clean the pila! we baptized in our area instead of in chalate! it was awesome! Saturday was the baptism! It was really great! Im very happy for Alex and his decision! I also had the opportunity to confirm him which was crazy and a bit scary haha! Cool experience though! We also had an investigator at the baptism and i got to talk to him a lot! he speaks English so it was awesome haha! he lived in LA for a while! Our ward mission leader baptized Alex and pretty much all was great! very good day! Sunday was normal, lots of running around inviting people to church! but we only had one investigator at church which was really a bummer! lots of people are sick so the attendance was really low! but overall a great week!!
thanks for reading!

Gracias!

Week 4 P-week

Week #10
4/4/16
Hello Everyone!
This week was pretty interesting! so last week i sent a picture of my toe, i had a pretty bad ingrown toenail and it needed to be taken out! so on Tuesday I went to San Salvador to some members house who is a podiatrist and got some sketchy hour long central American surgery on my toe! the best part is i didn't get any anesthetic..idk how to spell that. So it hurt, A LOT! not fun, and it gets worse haha! so at the end she put on a bandage and said i was done! nd i was so happy haha! she said come back in two days to take off the bandage and ill check to see how your toe is, so we did. And when we got back she had me sit in the chair again and I didn't think much of it. Then she told me that last time since it was swollen she couldn't take all of it out so today she had to go deeper... I was not happy about that lol! so again without pain killer she operated on my toe for like another hour and cut even deeper! it was awesome! But for me the worst part was that I couldn't work like all week cause I wasn't supposed to walk on it a lot! so we were stuck inside until Thursday night! I t felt like such a waste of time i did not enjoy it! There was also an infection so I have to take antibiotics which make me really tired so i slept a lot haha! But Friday i was finally able to work again so my companion and I decided that it waqs best top wake up at 6.30 get ready and just go to work! so we skipped studies and went to work! we visited all of our areas and taught tons of lessons! We found 13 news and had a great day! It felt so good to get back out after the week! Then we had conference in Chalate Saturday and Sunday so we didn't work, but conference was amazing! I really enjoyed listening to the inspired words of the prophet, his apostles and all of the other wonderful speakers! I was able to watch it in English too which was a blessing! I learned lots! I was in a small office in the church building with freezing AC which felt sooo good!! Well there isn't much more for this week, i apologize for the short email! Thanks for reading!
Tambien yo aprendì bastante (in Salvador that is the same as mucho) sobre esperanza, fe, y templos! Podemos aplicarlos a nuestros vidas!
Thanks for reading! have a great week!!
My pictures are not working so i apologize!!
